Dear Euhofa Family,

In November 2017, our annual fall congress will take place in Lucca, Italy. The 56th Euhofa International Congress will be held from Wednesday 8th to Sunday 12th of November 2017 with the theme of “Tuscan Hospitality - Your Experience here, Your Emotion at Home“ and will strongly focus on the Italian hospitality vision including the important Tuscan regional roots.
Enrica Lemmi, Coordinatore Area Turismo, Presidente Corsi di Laurea in Scienze del Turismo from Fondazione Campus together with her team invite you to get to know - feel, see and experience the Tuscan region.
Benefit from a high standard academic programme as well as promising regional visits of hospitality schools as well as cultural hotspots.
Included in the high standard congress programme are speeches on operational perspective as well as hospitality service vision and discussion as well as workshop sessions. There will be enough time to share personal experiences and get to know a lot of insights into Tuscan hospitality.
Attending the congress will give you the opportunity to meet your international colleagues and friends and to strengthen your network!
This time it is the first time that we follow the „new congress format“ which many of you have suggested - therefore you cannot miss this extraordinary experience - you have to sign up! Reserve the date, do join us and see you in Lucca!

Fondazione Campus was founded sixteen years ago with the idea of establishing university activities in the field of tourism and vocational courses in Hospitality Management and Food and Beverage, building up strong international relationships.
Fondazione Campus has chosen to adopt a method which places in the foreground attention, care and respect for the students, whether they are young people enrolled in the bachelor and master degree courses or professionals and managers involved in the different Schools.
The 56th EUHOFA International Congress THE EMOTION OF TUSCAN HOSPITALITY, will deal with Italian Hospitality, exploring its technical and “destination” matters, with special attention to Tuscany, of course, and specifically on Lucca and the Valle del Serchio. During our congress we will explain the importance of constant dialogue between territory, excellent food and wine productions, start-up, innovative companies, sustainability and management skills, while giving you the emotion of an exclusive experience.
The academic programme of the congress is rich in content for a modern approach to hospitality and will actively involve our students in the whole organization of the congress: event planning and logistics, cultural planning and guide, gastronomy.
We promise an unforgettable event and look forward to welcoming you in 2017.

TERRITORY

Lucca

A CITY
SURROUNDED
BY WONDERS

Lucca is one of the most loved cities in Tuscany. The city is located on a plain at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is 20 km. from Pisa, the coast of Versilia and the Serchio Valley and an hour’s drive from Florence. Most of the attractions in Lucca today show its ancient history: from the trace of the Roman amphitheater to the archeological remains. Lucca is famous for its city walls dating from the XV-XVII centuries and this makes Lucca one of the 4 capital provinces of Italy to have an intact circular wall. The top of the walls is today a pedestrian promenade, one of Lucca’s main attractions.

Viareggio

THE PEARL OF
THE TYRRHENIAN
SEA

Lucca’s provincial territory offers a wide range of natural landscapes and tourist itineraries: the beautiful beaches of the Versilia, Massaciuccoli Lake where Giacomo Puccini composed his masterpieces, the Apuan Alps and the woods of the Serchio Valley, the numerous villages and cities of art. The Versilia is the area right along the Tuscan coast in the northwestern edge of the province of Lucca. It is widely known and popular for the fashionable resorts along its Riviera.

Versilia

A land
between the beach
and the mountain

Versilia is a stretch of land enclosed between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Apuan Alps in the north of Tuscany and is the ideal place to spend your holidays. You can choose to relax on the golden beaches of fine sand and cool off in the shallow waters , explore ancient villages and cities of art, and sample the excellent food accompanied by PDO zero km wines, enjoy the natural park of the Apuan Alps by walking on old mule tracks and paths or gliding in a canoe on the waters of Lake Massaciuccoli.
The Versilia will offer you the history of the prehistoric peoples who lived in the hills, you will learn about the antique tradition of mining and processing of marble, and you will be captivated by its Art Nouveau buildings, historical centers, museums, and enchanted by the magic of the Carnival and the notes of the Puccini Festival.
You can’t help falling in love with Versilia!

The Serchio Valley

LANDSCAPE, ACTIVITIES AND HOSPITALITY

Surrounded by the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, the Serchio Valley, crossed in its entirety by the Serchio River, is a lush green valley that offers plenty of activities to do and places to see, like the many villages that hold enchanting art and architectural treasures, from Castelnuovo Garfagnana to Barga, and Castelvecchio Pascoli, from the Wind Cave (the Grotta del Vento) to the legendary Devil’s Bridge in Borgo a Mozzano.

Barga

WHERE BEAUTY MEETS HISTORY

Barga is the most important hilltop town in the area and it has been officially included in the list of One of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy for its historical and artistic importance. The Serchio Valley is a rural area trying to attract more tourists coming from the popular Versilia coast turning its resources into points of strength to transform this area into a tourist destination as a whole.

Accommodation

The Hotel

Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa

Welcoming you to the Living Mountain is a suggestive avenue, flanked by olive trees, that leads you to the Renaissance Tuscany. Not too far away, is the enchanting Swan Lake. The landscape provides a fine spectacle: from here you can admire the Pania della Croce, Barga and Monte Forato. A short path will lead you to the Pascoli House - Museum.
The Hotel sets the stage for an unforgettable retreat; it is situated on 1,500 acres of immaculately landscaped grounds in the heart of Tuscany's unspoiled Serchio Valley. All of the spacious, gorgeously appointed hotel rooms and suites are brimming with luxury amenities, while many boast mesmerizing panoramic views.
The Resort will also be the venue of the Conference and where most of the activities of the session will take place.

Beauty Spa

Wellness

A small temple dedicated to well-being, a place where you can get away and regenerate while embraced by the uncontaminated nature of the Tuscan countryside.
If you are mainly interested in sports activities and regeneration techniques that favor a state of well-being and psycho-physical balance, the Wellness Area offers a heated indoor pool with hydro-massage, wave swimming and cervical waterfall, soft sauna, emotional showers with chrome therapy and aromatherapy, ice waterfall, Turkish bath and a fitness area with the latest Technogym equipment.

The Living Mountain

Il Ciocco

The Living Mountain is a story of families and traditions, a place created and regenerated for the pleasure of those who live, work, and stay at Il Ciocco.

The Il Ciocco mountain has always been a place full of life. As you move through it you will notice that there isn’t a place where the knowing hand of man hasn’t left a trace: chestnut groves, planted for the use of their fruits and wood; terracing, for wine and olive cultivations; the ruins of “metati” (small buildings used for drying chestnuts) and small villages with stories of love for the land and migration…
This is the Il Ciocco mountain, that has always lived and will continue to live on.
